Twenty for Twenty - Rabbit

Twenty tickets for twenty dollars
EXTRAORDINARY THEATRE AT AFFORDABLE PRICES

Following the success of the ‘Twenty for Twenty’ ticket offer during our seasons of Blackbird and The Serpent's Teeth and in response to the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from audiences, Sydney Theatre Company is delighted to announce the return of ‘Twenty for Twenty’.

Sydney Theatre Company has set aside 20 seats for every performance of Rabbit in Wharf 1, at the reduced ticket price of $20. That’s a saving of up to $57 per ticket!

Through the ‘Twenty For Twenty’ ticket initiative, Sydney Theatre Company will ensure that our productions become more affordable for the wider community and attract new audiences to the Company. To ensure we keep the costs of this initiative low, ‘Twenty For Twenty’ tickets are only available to purchase online.

Rabbit

It’s Bella’s birthday. Next year she'll be thirty (God forbid). Her father’s dying in hospital. Her ex-boyfriend is a psychological bully. None of her closest friends really know each other, but she's decided to herd them all down to her local for a party. Things are going badly enough, until an old flame joins the fray...

Pulled from pillar to post by thoughts and memories of her dying father and the torture of her vacuous twenty-something life, Rabbit explores the emotional minefield of becoming an adult. Over the course of the alcohol-fuelled evening the characters are peeled back in a torrent of acid one-liners.

Rabbit, the ferociously funny first play by Nina Raine, was produced in London in 2007 to rave reviews and was awarded the Evening Standard Award for Best New Play and the London Critics’ Circle Award.

Our production of Rabbit is directed by Brendan Cowell, bringing all the energy he poured into Wharf 2LOUD down the walkway for his Wharf 1 directorial debut.

Please Note: This show contains cigarette smoking and frequent course language.
