Our Back Stage program is about letting you in behind-the-scenes to help enhance your experience of our productions. And it’s also a way for you to let us know what you think of our work.
With this in mind, we offer pre-season Briefings for each and every one of our Main Stage productions. Held in the week before opening, these Briefings are an opportunity for you to hear from the cast and creative team about their experience in the rehearsal room and their approach to the production, and to ask them any burning questions you might have.
If you’d like to participate in Q&A sessions with the cast following a performance, we also hold a Night with the Actors for every Main Stage production.
Please check the relevant production page for the pre-season Briefing and Night with the Actors dates and times.
Our Main Stage programs, available to purchase at the theatre during each season, give you background information about the playwright, the production and the creative team as well as being a great souvenir of your night out. Discounted program vouchers are available to pre-purchase with your Season Ticket.
We’re also developing specific Back Stage content for our website, such as further reading about each play, notes from the creative team and videos from the rehearsal room that you can access in the lead-up to a production. We’ll keep you updated with developments on our website via our monthly email newsletter. Become our friend on Facebook, follow us on Twitter or subscribe to our You Tube channel and you'll be the first to know when we've posted Back Stage content online.
This website is also a place for you to post your reviews and feedback. We invite you to post Your Say online after you’ve seen one of our shows.
Through our Back Stage program, we also present additional stand alone events. In 2010 we will present a series of Play Readings, giving you an opportunity to see works programmed in response to the arts scene or the wider world. We’ll also continue to program The Wharf Sessions, free monthly post-show music at The Wharf, as well as our popular STCinema screenings.
And if you actually want to visit us Back Stage, you can call the Box Office on (02) 9250 1777 and book in for a tour of The Wharf led by one of our remarkable volunteers.
